Federal agent Rigby encounters primary suspect Hintten and his wife Elizabeth, a sexy cafe singer, while on the hunt for stolen aircraft engines on the Central American island of Carlotta. He is being monitored by Bealer, a “pie-shaped man” with hurting feet. Rigby realises he’s on the right track when Bealer offers him money to leave Carlotta. When Rigby and Elizabeth are drawn to one other, the group realises there are many types of bribes. Everyone sweats.
