Through a series of spectral pranks and ghostly clues, they attempt to communicate the location of a letter written by George Washington that will prove their loyalty. The film culminates in a madcap search for the letter, a showdown with the authorities, and ultimately, the redemption of Horatio and Melody, freeing them to finally move on to the afterlife.
